Amutha (அமுதா) Loves to Read (board book only)

The first book by Fearless Avvaiyar, அமுதா (Amutha) Loves to Read, is aimed at being accessible, relatable and inclusive in a world where representation matters. Three Thamizh women wrote it as the first book in a children’s series featuring a தமிழ் (Thamizh) girl living in the diaspora. Their goal was to create characters that தமிழ் Thamizh people could identify with and be proud of. They wanted to ensure that they showcase the richness of our history and traditions while recognizing that we are global citizens in a modern world. They wanted to create stories that people could easily relate to (e.g. intergenerational relationships) while giving opportunities for parents and loved ones to discuss important topics with their kids (e.g. gender norms and colourism).
